2008 promises to be a monumental year for the Akron District Golf Association with several new venues being added to the schedule and the rollout of the new website!
Snyder and Wright Outlast the Conditions at Turkeyfoot to Capture Thornton Title
Vaughn Snyder and Brad Wright battled through the wind and rain to grab the first title of the 2008 season at the Parke H. Thornton Two-Man Better Ball. The twosome carded seven birdies and a bogey in difficult conditions on their way to a 6-under 65 and a 3-shot victory.
In a 3-way tie for second at 3-under 68 were Tom Seever and John Kern, Chris Minear and Rich Slivinksi, and Mark Thomas and Joe Nemeth. Three teams shot 2-under 69 to tie for fifth place.

Tournament Registrations
Deadlines for registrations will now be in place for all events to improve efficiency in publishing tournament information and managing starting time reservations with host facilities. Entries will be accepted through the dedicated voice mail service at (440) 848-8364 or through the website registration page.
Entries close promptly at 11:59 p.m., on the Wednesday evening prior to the event. Entries received after the deadline will be added to a waiting list and only accepted if openings are available.
Please sign up for events early so that you can avoid being shut out of tournaments!
GHIN Handicap Program
This year's tournament administration will be managed through the USGA's Tournament Pairing Program. As a bonus membership benefit, all ADGA members are encouraged to take advantage of the GHIN Handicap Program now being offered through the association.
